And autumn seems to already be here…
When I looked back on my vacation, I realized I really did get enough rest and I enjoyed my time off. Even when the weather turned cold and windy. The books occupied my time while I waited for the sun’s return.
I’m not sure if you can see it in this picture, but the wind “bura” was blowing and there is a white fog over the sea.
But then, when the wind and the rain stopped, it became possible to catch pictures of sun through the trees.
Most of my vacation was spent in Smokvica, we just traveled for the last few days to southern Dalmatia to watch Maraton lađa – a famous event in that part of Croatia where teams compete on the river Neretva in rowing old-fashioned boats native to that region. For 22,5km! That is more than 2,5 hours of rowing.
But before the main event, we were lucky to have dinner at a place that features this sunset in front of it.
And views like this one:
In order to get to the start of the race boats are organized for tourists that first take you for a swim and a lunch and then to the start of the race.
And here go the teams – there were 34 of them.
This is what cheering from the boat looks like. 🙂
And now I’m back in Zagreb, just so you don’t think my hair always looks that disheveled, I have a fresh hairstyle.
(that will probably be disheveled in 2 days time) 😀

Ines, I think you have a natural talent for creating photo collages that really make the viewer feel like he or she is on holiday with you! There is something about your choice of photos and way of arranging them that leads me right into your world when I see them.
By the way, your new hairstyle is adorable! (I’m trying to grow mine out, too, at the moment, after having it cut super short the last few years.) I have always loved your cropped hair, as you look rather sophisticated with it in that style, but this longer, wispier look is really cute and makes you look so young!
Thank you Suzanne for saying so. I do try to convey as much of my holiday as I can (whenever I can).
As for my hairstyle, it seems the general consensus is that I look younger – which I have no problem with. 😉 That, and there are still mourners for my short hair around. 🙂
Vacationing suits you: you look radiant! 🙂
I’m glad that you feel that you feel rested. Which perfumes (if any) did you take with you?

Thank you. 🙂 I took my 2 sumer staples, Bronze Goddess and Vamp a NY. And the one that seems to go everywhere with me nowadays: Narcisso Poudree.
I tried Narcisso Poudree after reading, if I’m not mistaken, your review and liked it.
Bronze Goddess is permanently on my list of beach vacation perfumes.
