It’s funny how I haven’t been to France in years and then in the span of a month I traveled both to Paris and to Val d’Allos for skiing. We were there in early January, it’s just that I’m slow in posting.
I missed skiing so much these past few years we didn’t go so I enjoyed myself immensely this time around.
Even though the snow wasn’t much in attendance (all over Europe), we still had enough to be able to ski every day. Most days the weather looked like this:
Lots of sun and luckily not too warm most days so the snow didn’t melt.
How could you not feel happy when all day long this is what you see:
Not that much snow around though…
Enjoying a little sun while taking a break (and practicing taking selfies) š
The only cloudy day when a storm was coming – with lots of snow!
View from the balcony:
And for the first time around, I’m sneaking in a photo of my boyfriend (he doesn’t like his pictures published online but I’m thinking this one is fine):

Glad you got away twice, Ines.
I want to go to the mountains but just to enjoy the scenery. Skiing scared me to death š
My God you have amazing skin. Please consider doing a skincare post at some point!

Dear Tara, of all the things I thought might be commented on, my skin never crossed my mind. š Thank you though. š I don’t find it that good honestly because of my rosy cheeks caused by capilaries. Luckily that is easily hidden.
Why are you scared of skiing? You tried it?
Just walking around snowy mountains is great too.

Well, it looks like porcelain in that pic.
I went skiing once and I think that being sight impaired was a big part of it. I was fearful of losing track of my group and I’m the least sporty person in the world at the best of times.
I still like the idea of a log cabin, hot drinks and all that scenery and clean air š

š From now on I’ll think of my skin as porcelain. As I really like the sound of that. š
As for skiing, sometimes when the weather is not fair, I don’t see the piste well, I have a problem skiing too, so I just slow down.

I’m seconding pretty much everything that Tara said, Ines. Your getaway sounds every bit as good as it looks in these photos. The thought of downhill skiing scares me (I used to do cross-country skiing, though), but your photos could sway my opinion if I looked at them long enough, as I love that kind of scenery.
You do indeed have amazing skin, so creamy smooth. And it’s nice to see a photo of your boyfriend, who looks very happy to be on this holiday with you. Fun!

Honestly girls, what’s up with the fear of downhill skiing? You can always ski down mellow, straight slopes. š
The skiing holiday seemed to be exactly what was needed to release stress and get happy and relaxed again, for both of us.

Amazing pictures – that sky looks insanely blue! Perfect conditions all round. I speak as someone who has only skied four or five times ever, but I get the attraction, I really do.

Vanessa, that’s one of the best things when skiing, the fair, unbelievably blue skies. š

I loved seeing your Val d’Allos photos. I went skiing there last year and it was very nice to see the familiar runs. We’re going somewhere different this year but I’m really hoping there will be more snow this week!

Unfortunately, not many runs were open this year but still, it was great fun. I hope as well you get some snow because the way weather is acting now, it seems skiing season might be over.
