Spring-y thoughts

It is finally real spring here. It’s warm, everything is blooming and the sun shines for most of the day (and it’s day most of the day – no more early night).

People tend to ask what is your favorite season. And even though I really love them all, I think spring is slightly my favorite. It always feels like I’m waking from hibernation, I have more energy and I have will to do many things soΒ days just fill up with fun activities. It seems everyone is more in the mood to be friendly and go out more.

I, for one, feel enthusiastic again about all the things I love doing. It seems I prefer doing them in the light of day. πŸ˜‰

Perfume (and smell)-wise I’ve been wearing Shalimar Parfum Initial quite a lot lately (thanks to Birgit’s sale). I’m also waiting for the air to get fragrant as it’s spring but not much has been happening in that regard. The best I could smell was dewy grass and warm, wet sidewalks (we did have our share of rain lately).

But I know only days from now the air will be fragrant and it will just keep on getting better as spring gets in full bloom.

I’ll finish today with some photos I took on Sunday while at a friend’s barbecue (outside the city).

    Beautiful photos!!
I used to say Autumn was my favorite spring, but I think, like you, that Spring is slightly favored by me these past years. I have been wearing a LOT of an Opium flanker (cannot remember which one – and I’m too lazy to go into the other room to find out!) and really enjoying it.

I used to think winter was my favorite as there’s Christmas and snow and skiing but now it’s definitely spring. πŸ™‚
Thanks for mentioning Opium, I have a flanker I really like, I just need to find it. πŸ™‚

This is my favourite season too Ines. I feel more optimistic and yes, energised even. Lovely pics. Hyacinths are the smell of spting to me.

I’m glad your days are full of fun activities.

Oh, yes, hyacinths. I love the smell of blooming fruit trees and linden. And narcissus. And lily of the valley. πŸ™‚ Spring flowers!

Could the flanker be Opium Fleur de Shanghai by any chance? This week has been sunny and warm over here and I totally agree on the energising effect of more daylight. The spring flowers are so cheering too. Glad you are feeling more productive and getting stuck into things. I always think that from now till October is a great time.

Mine isn’t. It’s something L’Ete. And it smells easy enough for summer.

I’m thinking the same – although November is still productive for me and then with December, hibernation starts. πŸ™‚

Beautiful pictures! And I really like your mood.

Spring used to be my favorite time of the year too when I used to live in a much colder climate. After I moved to California the only time I dislike is a week or two in summer when the sun gets extremely hot. All other seasons are just wonderful here.

I can imagine living in a warm climate makes you love all seasons. πŸ™‚ It’s only when spring arrives and the days get longer that I realize how much I actually miss the light and the sun (we had a really cloudy several months so even days were dark).
