As I already mentioned, I absolutely loved my summer vacation. I was lucky that after Vis I got to spend some time in Smokvica again, so I could recuperate from Vis.
You will not be able to tell that from the pictures here, but I spent most of my nights awake having fun with a little group I met my first evening there and with friends who were there already. We basically drank and danced the nights away and I ended up getting home later and later as the nights progressed.
So I spent my nights out having fun and days sunbathing on the beach and enjoying the company of my friends. 🙂 Which is how I ended up seeing several sunsets and sunrises (actually it was the sunrises that I was most surprised to experience – I’m usually never awake at that time). 😉

The special sunset when you need to wish for what you want in the next year (and be very careful as those wishes tend to come true)
P.S. I got warned on facebook that Komiža is not a village, so I fixed that now. 🙂

Vis looks absolutely stunning, positively tropical. It’s so good to learn what other parts of Denmark can be like.
Staying up till sunrise is not something I’ve ever done but it sounds like you had the best time. Were there friends from Croatia there then?

Tara, Vis is in Croatia. 🙂 It’s one of Croatia’s many islands. So yes, my Croatian friends were there.
It’s a bit south from Zagreb so the climate is more Mediterranean.

Oh that explains it! Sorry Ines.

No, I’m sorry. 🙂
As Undina said as well, I just assumed you would know which country I went to. 😉

It took me some time to figure out what place you were talking about: I don’t think I’ve ever heard the name Vis and you were referring to your vacation there as if you were just continuing the previous story : -)
I like sunset pictures (yours and in general) and keep taking those whenever I have a chance. But I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen any sunrises… I’m not a morning person so there should be a very good reason to be up at that time – and then I’m not in the mood to enjoy it ; -)

He, he, he. 🙂
Yes, I was just continuing my story thinking my train of thought would be generally understood (I need to work on that more). 😉
Honestly, I’m not a morning person but in this case no waking up was necessary, I was still awake from the evening before. I think that’s the only way for me to see a sunrise…
That said, if someone told me I’d be awake for that long without some serious struggle with sleep, I wouldn’t believe it. I think there is something in the air on Vis…

Oh, my Croatia holiday lemming just went up a notch. Haven’t been there on vacation since 1972…well it was Yugoslavia then, I guess. Your break sounds so idyllic and I am glad you could take the hectic pace of late nights and early mornings. I don’t think I have the stamina anymore, so party while you have still got it in you!

Vanessa that just means next summer you know where you are supposed to go for a vacation. 😉
Honestly, I didn’t think I had the stamina any more but it turns out I just need to be in the right setting. 😀
