I shouldn’t be so happy about it but I can’t help it. 🙂 I love snow.
And we had a record-breaking snow yesterday. 40cm of snow fell in less than 15 hours which has never happened before in Zagreb (last record is from 1955 when 38cm fell in 24 hours).
The whole city pretty much stopped yesterday and luckily it happened on a weekend as I can’t imagine what would it have looked like if it were a normal work-day.
This made me feel Christmas is near and I put everyone in the mood yesterday by making warm egg-punch (made with rum, oranges and wine) and today by making meringues with almonds and cinnamon. They might not look great but they taste quite good. 🙂
So, as I’m getting in the mood for Christmas, I’m compiling a list of my Christmas fragrant and non-fragrant picks I hope to post soon.

Yaay for snow! I really don’t mind the fact that everything stopped and will be a problem for a few days. 🙂 I feel like a little child each time snow falls – and I love the quiet it brings to everything.

No skiing for me today (but I am going running tomorrow, I wonder how that will work out?!). We could go skiing to the little mountain we have here, there is enough snow after all, but I don’t think it would be possible to reach it by car, or with much difficulty.
I actually enjoyed my weekend at home, relaxed, did a lot of cleaning and I am generally feeling rather good. 🙂
Yes, eggnog! The punch is such a commonly used name here I didn’t really think there might be another word in English. 😀

Aw, thank you, Carol! You know, I shouldn’t say I don’t like snow … I love being in Arizona when it snows, because it’s that fine, powdery snow that is so pretty when you get up in the morning, and then it’s gone by lunchtime or sooner, and it just sublimates in that dry air. Such a beautiful thing … it doesn’t stick around long enough to get sooty and slushy from the traffic and whatnot. 🙂

I think the last time I saw snow was three years ago. I do not miss it much but I do not mind spending a couple of days in mountains once in a while. But if you enjoy it I’m happy for you 🙂

I love snow and we get so little of the white stuff that I am always excited to see it. Well, not when I am travelling, mind, and I sympathise with people stuck in their cars or with cancelled flights. Have been there too and it ain’t so pretty when you are trying to get somewhere on time.

That’s true Vanessa. Although we’ve been warned here to expect snow several days ahead.
There isn’t much of it usually, we get some most winters but more for show than you can actually have any kind of snow fun. And it doesn’t last – so this has been great (and quite cold)!

We went from this snow into spring instead into real winter. I just wish it won’t last as I can already feel these changes causing a cold (I don’t want to be sick for the holidays).
