Croatian design spotlight – Mara D

I only learned about the brand a few days ago and I was amazed by the design of the shoes.

There aren’t that many designs available but they are all done by hand out of Italian leather and seem so cool.

I mean, I can always admire high heels even though in everyday life I stick to reasonable shoes (i.e. those I can walk in all day long).

You can follow them on Facebook or check their site (don’t look at prices though).

Some of my favorites:

God, how I wish I was someone who can buy and wear these shoes…

I remember being in Zagreb about 30 years ago and seeing the most exquisite handmade shoes and bags. I bought a pair of coppery-bronze high heels that were simply amazing. Really beautiful, delicate, yet very wearable shoes.

Dada, thank you for commenting. 🙂 I’m only now discovering the amazing hand-made things that can be found here.

Oh wow, you’ve stirred a craving that probably doesn’t need much stirring to begin with! I love all three of the shoes you’ve featured here – but like you, must admire from afar. I can actually wear high heels pretty well and for a good duration of time, but when the heel is this high, I need a platform, not a stiletto. Still, it’s nice to fantasize about these …. 🙂

Suzanne, it’s easier for me in platforms as well but how I would love being able to walk around in these… 😉

My back starts hurting just from looking at those heels 🙂 But I like colors.

Well, that’s certainly a realistic take on these shoes. 😀 I still wouldn’t mind having them on my feet. 😉

Oh wow – those heels are so narrow I cannot believe they are actually weight bearing?! But as Undina says, pretty to look at. That said, I could see you in either of those gladiator shoes in particular…;)
