The sunny side of life – Monegal’s Kiss My Name

I apologize for the disappearance. Life gets rather busy sometimes. And interesting. 🙂

That said, the weather here’s been interesting as well. After a summer that resembled more of an autumn, we were in for some warm sunny weather. So this time around I turned to some white flowers by Mr Monegal. Ever after hearing him speak several weeks ago, I’m more and more leaning toward acquiring several more of his perfumes (Cuirelle is always a huge hit whenever I wear it).
So, I’ve been wearing Kiss My Name rather often. It  makes me think of the sunshine and happiness all in one (hence the title). The brightness of neroli just adds to the experience of the sunshine. And then tempered with tuberose and jasmine… What’s not to give you an instant smile? 🙂
I’d say Mr Monegal has mastered the art of seduction through perfumes.
I am certainly succumbing to more and more of his wonderful creations.kiss my name

So now that it was sunny and warm, I was wearing Kiss My Name a lot, a Monegal version of white flowers..

Notes: tuberose, iris, egyptian jasmine, tunisian neroli and tolu balsam.

A very refreshing start with neroli, based on jasmine and tuberose and I’d swear some kind of fruit. My guess would be peach. and then tuberose slowly leaves its nice position to let neroli and jasmine take center stage, all the while lurking in the background.

I admit the iris is playing hide and seek with me (rather well as I haven’t found it yet) but the tolu balsam is what I’d say gives the wonderful longevity to this perfume and the warmth to the notes that can sometimes be shrill.

And that’s basically it. An overwhelming feeling of happiness and warmth due to white flowers.

It seems though the enjoyment of the warm and sunny is finished for this year. Tomorrow the cold weather begins…

P.S: I can’t help it, that makes me instantly think of “Winter is coming…” (Game of Thrones)  😉

What a lovely review, (almost) worth the wait 😉 now you make me want to go straight to my sample. Since it’s well and truly autumnal here, it’s been a while since I wore a BWF, and I could definitely do with a little sunshine.

I knew you wouldn’t let me off that easy. 😉 Well, after tomorrow, no more sun and warmth here either. But at least the memory will last a bit longer. 😉

This warm, sunny perfume seems to fit your personality perfectly, Ines!

I’m going to ask around at Perfume Lovers London on Thurs where I get to try Ramon Monegal over here. I really want to try Cuirelle.

      Thank you Tara! 🙂
I can’t wait to hear what you think of it, but especially how others react to you wearing it.

This sounds delightful, Ines. And reminds me, did you have warm and sunny weather for your Zagreb half-marathon?

Oh, and though I’ve only tried three of his fragrances, I do agree with you about Ramon Monegal – that he has “mastered the art of seduction through perfumes.” 🙂

Oh, it was warmer and sunnier than most of the summer this year. 🙂 We had 26 degrees Celsius which is freakishly warm for this time of year.
Still I managed my PB. 😀 I’m running in Ljubljana this Sunday (if I get better – I have a cold).
Glad you agree with my idea. I’m really looking forward to giving more nose time to the rest of the line.

Our summer and autumn has also switched this year: both September and October (so far) were summery hot (and not this but real summer).
I think I smelled this perfume but since tuberose and I are not friends (still) I haven’t tried it on my skin. But it’s so nice to read an enthusiastic review for a perfume! I will smell it again the next time I see it at a store – just because you like it.

You know, the same is true for me and neroli. Usually I can’t stand it as it gets too shrill for my nose but here, perfect. And tuberose really doesn’t play that much of a role so the perfume just might work for you. 🙂

“An overwhelming feeling of happiness and warmth due to white flowers” – what’s not to like? I really haven’t made much inroads into this line, but it feels very promising from all I have read, and the two scents I have sniffed.

And we have had a balmy autumn so far, but the cold weather can’t be far away. ;(

True! But it seems we’re having the sunny type of cold weather so I’m rather happy with it.
Hope you smell more of the line, I really think they are worth the effort. 🙂

Ooh that sounds delightful. I’m a big fan of delaying the winter with a spray of something optimistic and flowery. I wonder if the fruity sensation comes from the jasmine? I tried the jasmine and lilac flavoured flanker of Idylle recently and that had hoards of fruitiness spraying forth (it wasn’t half as lovely as the original EDT though). Supposedly jasmine from Calabria has a fruity whiff.
Enjoy the last rays of sunshine.

Interesting! Thank you for letting me know, I have no idea if it’s jasmine but that is definitely a possibility.
Well, the sun is still here but there is no warmth left. 🙂
