Copenhagen

As you probably know, I spent 8 days this summer with Asali in Copenhagen. Even though I did my best to see as much as I could each day, there are still many things I didn’t have time to see but I just hope that means I’ll be back. 😉

If I were to judge the Danes by people I met in Copenhagen, I would say they are a nice, smiling people who are always there to help you in English whenever you need something. And they also have a tendency to compliment you out of the blue (happened twice to me).

Asali was a wonderful host and an amazing cook (I never met anyone who can whip up a proper dinner in 20 minutes – and it tastes great).

So, here are the pictures of some of the things I visited. I actually managed one run while there. Luckily I did two days in because afterwards, there was no way my legs would have made it. I am still recuperating from the whole vacation experience…

P.S. I’ll hide this here. It’s also a great city for shopping, I came back with a full bag of clothes. 😀

You had time to get a full bag of clothes as well?!

Fantastic pics. Rosenberg Castle looks amazing and how fun must the cruise have been. Always love a windmill and great to see The Little Mermaid too. What a wonderful city with lovely people.

Sounds like you made great use of you time and really packed a lot in. And we are not even on to the island yet!

The clothes sort of accumulated during the week. 😀 It’s not my fault they had some terrific sales going on. 😉
I packed into my days as much as my legs could handle.

I’m such a dummy, I was thinking “that polar bear statue looks really real”!

hehe, that’s cute, well he really was posing so I can see why you’d think that. He was truly enjoying the attention.

He, he, they really are amazing posers. Both bears that were there.
I don’t think though the picture does justice to their actual size. They are enormous!

Whoa, Ines, you really get around. In a good way. (In the best way possible, actually.) I love your photo tour of Copenhagen.

And now hearing that Asali can whip up a lovely dinner in twenty minutes … ok, I’m getting jealous of her many talents. Love her, but officially jealous now (especially after seeing her drawing/painting on her latest post).

😀 Thanks! I try and do as much possible when I’m someplace (my list is usually longer than what is realistically possible).
I’m jealous of that talent of hers as well. I mean, those were some amazing dinners. 🙂

What a wonderful vacation! Would you guess which picture is my favorite?

I definitely can’t do a proper dinner in 20 minutes but I can promise a lot of very picturesque places if you ever decide to visit me ;- )

Well, that’s a difficult one. The little mermaid, the park or the beach? Those are my top 3 guesses – now I wonder if I even came close… 🙂
Btw, I don’t know who can make dinner in 20 minutes (unless you count sandwich a dinner) but picturesque is great. 🙂

Mermaid was the right guess ;- )

… So, should I start preparing the guest room?

Fantastic set of photos that really capture the many and varied highlights of your stay. I was particularly intrigued by the hot dog, which looked like it was being served in an ancient bit of bark, though it may in fact have been a tortilla wrap. I am curious about the unexpected ingredients now. On the occasions when I have been to Copenhagen, I have only had enough free time to amble round the centre a bit, and didn’t get this close to the Little Mermaid, never mind a polar bear. Note to self to go back as a proper tourist. I am dying to check out Asali’s bathroom for one thing.

Sorry Vanessa it took me so long to reply. 🙂 I think they did an amazing thing with that hot dog because the tortilla was made out of ingredients they used to have then as well as filled with those, and the ingredients I deciphered are: the sausage obviously (delicious!), barley, sour cream, apple spread, chopped nuts (hazelnuts I believe).
Why Asali’s bathroom? which is very functional and nice I should add.
