Wrong season but I need some energy (Eau Dynamisante, Clarins)

Clarins was always a company for good cosmetics and I never got the urge to try their scent. It always felt like a splash edt that they had and could sell along with the creams.

Now I know better. 🙂

I got a sample in a swap and from the instant I applied it, I felt better.

To me it smells like a really good cologne, exactly the one that I would fit into my collection as it has all the hallmarks  I find lovely in perfumes.

It has an energetic citrusy opening (the peel one along with the sparkly soda feeling) and what I like to call evergreen freshness.

Then, it also has a light spiciness to it so it’s not completely innocent.

All that time you can smell the light sweetness and warmth in the base but on this summer day, you are refreshed and feel cool because Dynamisante is taking care of you.

It’s not spectacular, innovative, strong or perfumey for that matter, but it’s energising and dynamic and refreshing. It doesn’t pretend to be other than that.

And I won’t pretend I don’t need a bottle for next summer. 🙂

Top notes are orange, coriander, caraway and amalfi lemon; middle notes are rosemary, carnation and cardamom; base note is patchouli.

I wore this one a few nights back. I gave it to my boyfriend as a present last summer but I like wearing it too. Definitely a good cologne.

Eau Dynamisante was the first perfume I ever bought! I was 16 – feels like eons ago.I love the scent, but not the associations I make with it. I think it's high time I got past those associations. I'll give it a sniff next time I'm at the Clarins counter!

I wore this as a teenager, I loved it. I like to take a whiff every time I pass it at the department store, a really nice fragrance.Great that it fuels you with energy, Ines. I should try it again too, I could use some extra power… 🙂

Elisa, well, it seems I'm again late to the party. 🙂 But at least I feel energized. 😉

JoanElaine, I hope you work through your associations – this is a scent that should work to ease your mind and make you feel good. So I hope it becomes such for you again. 🙂

Olfactoria, well, it seems this one is even wider known than what I thought of L'Air de Rien. :)It is really easy for me to like it as it's true to its name.

Great post, Ines 🙂 Like your other readers, my love for ED dates back to adolescence. It vaguely reminds me of a cologne that Aveda makes (or did) that I love and would love to find again. Unfortunately I only recall the scent itself, not its name. Something herbal and fresh… does anyone know what it might be?

Something invigorating should be worn at any time of year! I can't quite recall how this one smells, though I have tried it, I know. Meanwhile, am loving the Eau Ressourcante body butter, with its cooling gobs of cream that smell of a sauna!

Thanks axum! :)You just proved I'm the last perfumista on earth to have tried this. 🙂 I did get here eventually (luckily for me). 😉 I'm sorry I'm not really familiar with Aveda products, they aren't available here.

Vanessa, you just gave me another product to try. I love trying body products, and when someone talks about sth they like, I want to try instantly. 🙂

Ines, here I come to the rescue once again: not even I haven't worn (or smelled, to that matter) this cologne but before reading your post I had no idea Clarins had one! Yeah, I know, it speaks volumes about my power of observation especially taking into the account that I buy some Clarins cosmetics from time to time – but nevertheless :)I will try it the next time I'm at the mall. Thank you for the nudge.

Undina, you certainly did come to teh rescue. 🙂 I was starting to get worried I was the last perfumista out there who tried this. I guess I was the one before last. 😉

I have tried this one but it's been a very long time since I did. I think I found it a little masculine for some reason. It sounds like a great choice to sprintz for a "pick-me-up". Glad you've found it, Ines.

Tara, it is a little masculine -with that cologne, un-sweet vibe going on but I actually like that a lot. 🙂

Ines, yes I thought that was probably why it appeals more to you than me, knowing our tastes!
