100 Books in a Year Reading Challenge 2011.

Well, the title says it all. 🙂
I don’t think I’ll be able to reach it, but if I exceed 76 from last year, I’ll be satisfied. This one is again hosted by Book Chick City and here is the sign-up page if anyone is interested in participating.

•Timeline: 01 Jan 2011 – 31 Dec 2011

•Rules – Read 100 or more books in 2011

•All books can crossover into other challenges you have on the go.

•Only print books and ebooks count (no audiobooks).

•You can join anytime between now and the later part of next year.

    CF, so did I. 🙂 But who cares, I read so many great books I don't really care I didn't hit 100. PLus, now at least I have an idea of what and how much I actually read.I participated in J. Kaye's last year but since BCC is my favourite book blog, since she's hosting her own, I decided to join hers.

    Thanks Jospehine! 🙂 REading is what I do to unwind from a day and what helps me deal with stress. That's why so many. 🙂 Besides, I don't really watch TV.We all have stuff we love to do, it just happens I love reading extremely (have since I learned to read). 🙂 I'm off now to do some more of it.

    Happy new Ines, all the best. This really interests me, and I do love reading, but like Josephine, I could never see myself reading a complete book every 3 to 4 days, and I think the pressure would get to me. Which reminds me slightly of that movie Julie and Julia, where Julie attempts to cook every recipe (524-odd) in Julia Child's recipe book!

    Good luck with your challenge! I tried J.Kaye's challenge last year, but ended with only 60 or so books. Wrong year to take up that kind of challenge :)And I agree with you-quality over quantity!

    I really wish you good luck. While I love reading I don't think I could read 100 books in one year. I also think it is better to read good books even if they are not 100. But then, everyone has their opinion!Best Wishes and big Hugs

    Thank you Michael, all the best to you as well!I only managed to get to 76 books because all I do once I'm on a vacation is read (and 3 weeks of reading make my list grow).I didn't see Julie and Julia but it sounds interesting from what I heard of it.

    76 sounds like a lot of books. Even one a week sounds like a heck of a lot of books. Great idea to have a year-long challenge. I would love to read 100 books in a year. Maybe one day.

    MPL, I don't think having children works well with a reading challenge. 🙂 It's one of the things that I know I will have to give up when I decide to have children. And then eventually get back into.

    You all are fantastic! I'm lucky if I can read 15! I don't have much of an attention span, though, maybe the discipline will come to me in a few years. Right now I'm reading the Communist Manifesto, and I'm thinking "This? It isn't nearly as well reasoned as the book that launched a thousand wars should be."

    Thanks Joan for the comment. 🙂 It's just a matter of what one likes to do to relax and books just do it for me.But I definitely don't attempt reading books as Communist Manifesto, I think that's very brave from you in regards to being able to finish it and keep up your interest.

    Hi Ines! I jumped over here from WAFTbyCarol as I too am an avid reader. I checked my Kindle account and found that since June 1, 2011 (when I bought the Kindle), I've read 140 books! And that's just on the Kindle; doesn't count hard copies read! Yikes!! No wonder my house is dusty.I've now bookmarked you and I look forward to reading both your perfume and book reviews.Cheers,Donna

Oh, I am so envious! 🙂 I'd consider it pure heaven if I had time to read so many books – well, actually, any time I can use for reading books is heaven for me (I just wish there was more of it – there are so many books I just don't have the time to read).

    I have to tell you that I was shocked myself as I do work full time. I'm not married though, nor do I have children, so that definitely frees up some time. Also, I don't watch television (except University of Kentucky basketball!).
